Arché Porto/Post/Doc

Arché is a space for thinking and creative development, intending to provide tools and moments of reflection and training to new film projects, as well as a platform of contact with international agents of the film industry in an atmosphere of an in-depth work.

In the context of Porto/Post/Doc, Arché welcomes 4 projects in a four-days projects development workshop and a pitching session, open to a professional audience and an international jury that will award a prize to one of the projects. Arché is exclusive to authors from member-countries of the Ibermedia Programme: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Italy, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela.

WORKSHOP

Arché workshops aim at providing projects the necessary tools to explore the subjects, to reflect upon narrative strategies and include the viewing of footage and/or working versions in the case of projects in the editing stage or first cuts.
pitching

PITCHING

Participants pitch their projects in 10 minutes presentations to industry guests. Producers, programmers, sales agents and other professionals attending Porto/Post/Doc will be invited.

TUTORS

In 2023, Porto/Post/Doc Film Festival will take place between November 17th and 25rd, and Arché between the 17th and the 21nd. The project development workshop will be tutored by Helena Girón and Samuel M. Delgado (Spain).

Helena Girón and Samuel M. Delgado

Their work investigates the relationship between mythology, history and materialism. Their first feature film, Eles transportan a morte (2021), premiered at the Venice and San Sebastian festivals winning awards at both. It has subsequently been shown at international festivals such as Rotterdam, Cairo, Mar del Plata, Viennale, Hamburg and Sao Paulo. Their previous short films have been shown at festivals like Toronto, Locarno, New York, Vila do Conde, and many others. They have made installations and performances in art centers like CCCB (Barcelona), BAM (New York), TEA (Tenerife) or Solar (Vila do Conde).
