Regulations

1. Arché is the space for development and creative thinking of Apordoc – Associação pelo Documentário, to be held in the context of Doclisboa – International Film Festival (Lisbon, Portugal).

2. In 2025, Arché’s activities will take place between October 20th and 26th.

3. Arché consists of project development workshops, project presentation sessions, individual meetings with film professionals and other complementary training and industry activities.

4. Arché is designed for film projects with a strong implication in the real world, of a documentary nature, which experiment with the potential and limits of this very nature.

5. Arché is exclusively dedicated to authors from Ibermedia Program member countries, namely Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela.

6. The deadline for opening applications will be announced annually on the website www.arche-space.org. In 2025, the deadline for applications will be from May 19th to June 9th.

7. Projects submissions are free of charge.

8. Registration for Arché presupposes filling in the form and sending in the materials listed on the Registration page.

9. The selection and choice of projects will be made by the project coordinators, calling in relevant professionals from the sector if they so wish.

10. Applicants will be notified of the results by e-mail by July 31st. In the case of selected projects, the information will remain under seal until it is officially announced by the organization.

11. The director of each selected project will be awarded 1 participation grant, co-financed by the Ibermedia Program, which includes:

  • a stay in Lisbon in one of the Doclisboa festival’s partner accommodations from October 20th to 26th (7 nights);
  • access to Arché and all associated activities;
  • access to Doclisboa and its Industry Programme, Nebulae.

12. Travel expenses will be covered by the participants.

13. Participants must take out medical and travel insurance.

14. Participants must ensure their availability on the Arché dates. Participation in all activities is mandatory.

15. Producers, editors and screenwriters of the projects may participate in Arché with the directors. However, Arché will only award one grant per project to the director.

16. Arché participants authorize information and materials sent at the request of the organization to be published in the official catalog, website and social networks for the purposes of promotion and dissemination.

17. All films completed after participating in Arché must include the following in the credits: “Project presented at Arché” + Arché Logo. Logos can be downloaded here.

18. In the case of projects winning an award in the context of Arché, the logo of the award partner must also be included in the film’s credits.

19. Registration of a project presupposes knowledge and acceptance of these regulations.

20. Apordoc’s management will decide on all matters not covered by these regulations.
