Regulations

1. Arché is the development and creative thinking space of Apordoc – Associação pelo Documentário, in the context of Doclisboa – International Film Festival (Lisbon, Portugal).

2. Each year, Arché presents an edition in the context of the Porto/Post/Doc festival.

3. In 2025, Arché-Porto’s activities will take place between 21 and 26 November.

4. Arché-Porto includes a project development workshop. a public project presentation session and one-to-one meetings.

5. Arché is aimed at cinema projects with a strong implication in reality, with a documentary matrix, which experiment with the potential and limits of this very nature.

6. Arché is exclusively dedicated to authors from Ibermedia Programme member countries, namely Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela.

7. In 2025, there will be a partnership with ECAM – Escuela de la Cinematografia y del Audiovisual de Madrid (Spain), which means that a project by a former student of the Documentary Film course will be invited to take part in Arché-Porto, with the same deadlines and eligibility conditions applying to the rest of the participants.

8. In 2025, the application period for Arché-Porto in Porto/Post/Doc runs from 23 June to 21 July.

9. Registration is free of charge.

10. Registration for Arché-Porto presupposes filling in the form and sending in the materials listed on the Registration page.

11. The selection and choice of projects will be made by the project coordinators, who will call in relevant professionals from the sector if they so wish.

12. Applicants will be notified of the results by email by 31 August. In the case of selected projects, the information will remain under embargo until the organisation officially announces it.

13. Travelling and accommodation expenses will be the responsibility of the participants.

14. Participants must take out medical and travel insurance.

15. Participants must ensure their availability on the dates of Arché-Porto. Participation in all activities is mandatory.

16. Feature and short film projects are accepted.

17. Producers and screenwriters of the projects will be able to take part in Arché-Porto with the directors.

18. Participants authorise information and materials sent at the organisation’s request to be published in the catalogue, website and official social networks for promotion and dissemination purposes.

19. All films completed after participating in Arché-Porto must include the following in the credits: ‘Project presented at Arché-Porto, at Porto/Post/Doc: Film & Media Festival’ + Arché logo. The logos can be downloaded here.

20. Projects winning Arché awards are also requested to use the award partner logo.

21. The registration of a project presupposes knowledge and acceptance of these regulations.

22. The management of Apordoc and the management of the Porto/Post/Doc festival will decide on all matters not included in these regulations.

23. Projects taking part in Arché-Porto are candidates for the Nebulae Award, which offers personalised consultancy sessions tailored to the specific development needs of the winning project. In addition to the Nebulae Prize, other prizes may be announced in accordance with the annual partners of each edition of the festival.
