Regulations

 

1.Arché is the development and creative thinking space of Apordoc – Documentary Association, taking place within the context of Doclisboa – International Film Festival (Lisbon, Portugal).

2. In 2026, Arché activities will take place from October 18 to 25.

3. Arché consists of project development workshops, project presentation sessions in English for an international audience of professionals, one-on-one meetings with industry agents, and other complementary training and industry activities.

4. Arché is aimed at film projects with a strong connection to reality, rooted in documentary practice, that explore the potential and limits of this nature.

5. Arché is exclusively dedicated to authors from member countries of the Ibermedia Program, namely: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Ecuador, Spain, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Portugal, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

6. The submission period will be announced annually on the website www.archespace.org. In 2026, applications are open from April 1 to April 30.

7. Registration is free of charge.

8.Applying to Arché requires completing the application form and submitting the materials listed on the Applications page

9. The selection of projects will be carried out by the project coordinators, who may, if deemed appropriate, consult relevant industry professionals.

10. Applicants will be notified of the results by email by July 31. In the case of selected projects, the information must remain confidential until officially announced by the organization.

11. The director of each selected project will be awarded one participation grant, co-funded by the Ibermedia Program, which includes:

  • Accommodation in Lisbon in one of the Doclisboa partner lodgings from October 18 to 25 (7 nights);
  • Meal support during the stay in Lisbon;
  • Access to Arché and all associated activities;
  • Access to Doclisboa and Nebulae (the festival’s industry platform) programs.

12.Travel expenses are the responsibility of the participants.

13.Participants are responsible for obtaining health and travel insurance for the entire duration of the activities.

14.Participants must ensure their availability during the Arché dates. Participation in all activities is mandatory. Unjustified absence from any activity may lead to cancellation of accreditation and liability for costs already incurred by the organization—namely hotel nights corresponding to those days.

15. Producers, editors, and screenwriters may participate in Arché alongside the director. However, only one grant per project will be awarded to the director. Other team members will receive accreditation granting access to Doclisboa and Nebulae programs.

16.Arché participants authorize the publication of submitted information and materials in the official catalogue, website, and social media for promotional purposes.

17.All films completed after participating in Arché must include the following credit: “Project presented at Arché” + Arché logo. Logos can be downloaded here.

18.In the case of projects that win an award within Arché, the prize must also be credited in the film’s technical sheet.

19.Submitting a project implies knowledge and acceptance of these regulations.

20.The direction of Apordoc will decide on any matters not covered in these regulations.
