Hands – Power, Gesture and Touch

Several studies point to the first language of humans being gestural. One of the first artistic gestures is the painting of a hand, inseparable from the magic rite. In cinema, hands and magic have a special relevance: one of the first images filmed are the hands of a magician. The power of the hands is part of all cultures: the healing hand as a mirror of the body, the gesture as an expression of the universe, the touch, so critical, whose absence can lead to death.
