JURY

Catarina Mourão

Studied music, law and cinema (MA at Bristol University and PhD at Edinburgh University). Founder of Apordoc (Portuguese Documentary Association). Has been teaching film and documentary since 1998. Co-founded Laranja Azul, an independent film production company, with Catarina Alves Costa in 2000, in the scope of which makes her films, which have always won awards and been screened at international festivals and distributed in cinemas and on television.

Clémentine Mourão-Ferreira

Born and raised in Paris, has worked in film in Berlin, Lisbon, Mexico and Paris. In 2020, founded the company so-cle to produce features by international directors, who capture worlds where imagination and nature prevail. Has also been a programmer at the IndieLisboa Film Festival and a script analyst for the National Centre for Cinema and the Moving Image (CNC), Cine-Cerca, Mexican Film Institute, and other funding agencies in Bolivia and Brazil.

Juan Pablo Bastarrachea

Has a degree in audiovisual communication and a postgraduate degree in cultural management. Works in film festivals since 2004. Opened a chain of independent movie theatres with friends in 2012—Cine Tonalá. Produced documentaries and experimental works by directors such as María José Cuevas and Camila José Donoso. Was a juror at international film festivals. Teaches the seminar on distribution at the Mexico City Film School.

#LINK Encuentro Iberoamericano de Cine Documental is a space designed to foster the production of documentaries in Ibero-America and their regional and international relations. Born as the industry section of FIDBA (Buenos Aires International Documentary Festival), it moves to Madrid for its 15th edition in order to ease the internationalization of the projects of the participating filmmakers.
